Second Year – Massage Therapy Diploma

Join us to become a Registered Massage Therapist!

ACMT accepts direct entry to our MT program from other recognized colleges.

The Massage Therapy (MT) program is held over a period of 44 weeks. The 1200 hour MT program includes; 11 weekends of classroom study, home study and a clinical practicum component.  Upon completion of the MT program, students will have acquired a total of 2200 hours of education with ACMT.  Diploma holders are then able to practice as Registered Massage Therapists (RMT) across Canada.

This diploma program provides the students with an opportunity to learn deep tissue massage, fascia release, facilitated exercises, history taking, orthopedic assessments and treatment of pathologies of the entire muscular-skeletal system. These skills provide the ability to treat whiplash, headaches, lower back pain, and many other conditions normally treated by a highly qualified Massage Therapist.  They also learn how to work closely with other healthcare professionals such as medical doctors, chiropractors, and physiotherapists.

With cutbacks in the Alberta healthcare system, many employers now provide insurance that includes massage therapy; this has created a demand for massage therapy like never before. Upon completion of this program, graduates will have a total of 2200 hours and should be successful in challenging the entrance exam of any organization of massage across Canada.

Alberta College of Massage Therapy offers the industry leading curriculum in 6 major Alberta cities.
